Client Stories

Here what some of my previous Confident Celiac clients have to say…

“I definitely felt very well supported by Selena as well as my group! Selena is so very knowledgeable and very practical with her advice, very encouraging and was our biggest cheerleader when it came to sharing our wins.

I have made so many huge wins over the course of this program. I attended a potluck with way less anxiety and with her advice, it was much easier to navigate. My husband and I went to Edmonton and I didn’t even fret about where we were going to eat…..I asked my husband where he felt like eating when we got to the city and I was okay with whatever choice he made knowing that I have the skills and knowledge needed to eat anywhere safely!

After I completed the program, I vacationed at a resort in Mexico and was able to do confidently! So grateful to you Selena for helping me gain the confidence and skills to do this!”

~Lisette Brochu

Meet Lisette:

She was a busy grandparent who felt anxious about cross-contact at other people’s homes and in restaurants. She wanted travel to feel easier without constantly worrying about where she would eat or feeling like she had to pack food every time she left the house.

“I now know what questions to ask when dining out and can speak up for myself in social situations and I have much less anxiety overall around food and being away from home!”

“I’ve made huge improvements in my quality of life and confidence living with celiac. I’m now confidently eating out at different restaurants and know exactly what questions to ask.

I’ve been able to eat at my family’s home and travel without being glutened and without being stressed the whole time.

Grocery shopping is faster, I have a solid stockpile of go-to gluten-free foods, I’m making healthier meals, and I have more energy to take care of myself because of the changes I’ve made.”

~Rianne Dorazio

Meet Rianne:

She’s a young, busy working professional who had been newly diagnosed. She lacked confidence eating out, felt anxious about cross-contact at other people’s homes and in restaurants, and was confused about how to properly read labels—especially when it came to “may contain” statements. She also wanted travel to feel easier, without constantly worrying about where she would eat or feeling like she had to pack food every time she left the house.

“I usually dislike group format coaching but I honestly LOVED this and looked forward to it every week. It was such a kind and supportive group of people and it was nice to know that I wasn’t going through this alone and that every person on the call could relate to what I was going through.”

“It is such a good feeling that I can safely order food outside for Julia.  We’ve made so many improvements and we are much more confident now to safely buy and order things for her. I can read label with confidence and so can she.

And, we eat at a different place almost every week and, Julia, that is 11 can order for herself asking the right questions!

We’ve eaten at dominos, pur and simple, egg smart, quesada, stacked pancakes and more.  And, she’s even being included in the hot lunch program now!”

~Fernanda Caramez

Meet Fernanda:

She is a working mom and her daughter, Julia (11 years old) has celiac disease.  They struggled to understand labels and second guessed if items were really safe, especially with ‘may contain’ statements. They were avoiding eating at restaurants because of feeling anxious around cross contact. And because of this, they would avoid many places or just not eat out at all.

“It has been an amazing program.  I enjoyed the group sessions as you learn so much from others and their own questions. Your coaching has been incredible and your attention to detail is perfect and I love how you add what we talked about to the notes.”

“This program has really helped to reduce my symptoms. I also discovered I was very constipated, which I would have never guessed based on how my poops were at the beginning.  Since your recommendations, I’ve noticed a lot less bloating and my poops have been much better.

I’ve also improved my confidence with eating out and, recently I have eaten at bar burrito (an actual GF burrito) and I would have never tried that before.  I’ve also been able to reintroduce foods I didn’t tolerate before like GF oat milk.”

~Neelam Shah

Meet Neelam:

She was a very busy, working mom who had been living with celiac disease for over 10 years. Despite following a gluten-free diet, she continued to struggle with persistent symptoms, including stomach pain, incomplete bowel movements, gas pain, and bloating that was the worst at the end of the day.

She also experienced significant anxiety around cross-contact and felt very limited in where she could safely eat out. She had previously worked with a naturopathic/functional practitioner for support, but saw little improvement.

Her goal was to improve symptoms without cutting anything out, and to be able to tolerate a wide array of foods with minimal bloating/digestive issues.

“I found Selena very supportive as a coach. She is very approachable and quick to respond to all of my questions. She was very flexible and provided recommendations that would fit my lifestyle/routine. She went above and beyond to provide support and I am so grateful for her support.”

“The recommendations have been easy to implement, which has made it easier to stay consistent and I’m really noticing the difference. My bloating is now minimal, my constipation is under control with more complete bowel movements, and my fatigue has improved  after starting the recommended supplements.

I also feel more comfortable eating out. Even if I am not familar with a restaurant, I feel confident that I can still navigate it.  Previously, I would avoid any fast food chains with cross contamination risk, but since working with you, I’ve safely eaten at Subway and Taco Del Mar!”

~Samantha Scott

Meet Samantha:

She was a young working professional who had been living with celiac disease for two years. Despite following a gluten-free diet, she continued to experience persistent symptoms, including constipation, bloating, incomplete bowel movements, and fatigue.

She felt her doctors weren’t able to provide the level of support she was looking for. She had tried increasing her fiber intake, drinking more water, and exercising regularly, but saw little improvement. She was also still nervous about eating out at restaurants, especially if they didn’t have a gluten free menu.

Her goal was to reduce her symptoms and gain the confidence to feel comfortable eating out again.
